Client FAQ's

How long does a session take?

The length of the session usually runs 45-60 mins.

What should I expect during a session?

Each new client session begins with a relevant history and assessment to gain knowledge and understanding of the problem being brought forth. What is discovered during the assessment helps to determine the best approach for the injury and which technique(s) may be most effective. The physical treatment compares to a gentle soft tissue mobilization/manipulation using manual release techniques which often involves many muscles groups and connective tissue. The therapist will follow the body's patterns of tension and will find and help to release restrictions throughout the body. Therapists also incorporate IMS (Trigger Point Dry needling), postural correction, EMG Biofeedback , electrophysical modalities (IFC, TENS, ULTRASOUND or LASER) and a customized home exercise program to help you achieve your maximum potential recovery from your injuries .

How many sessions will I need to obtain benefit?

Most people obtain a benefit with each session. Depending on the injury, the trauma involved, the age and recovery time, everyone responds differently and each person can feel how they are improving and help the therapist in determining the amount of assistance that best serves their needs.

How will I feel after a session?

For the most part , the response is a deep relaxation and a sense of ease and release in the body. It can take several days for the full benefit occur. Soreness the next day is possible in some people as everyone has a unique body and nervous system, as well as, varying levels of individual sensitivity. The therapist can assist with explaining the various sensations as the session is occurring.

Are there any supplemental exercises I should do at home to assist healing?

Often gentle exercises and stretches are given to assist the release of tissue and to optimize the therapy process. Each person has unique needs and the therapist will be sensitive and aware of how to best assist with exercise once the assessment and treatment process has begun.
